Data Deletion Instructions

This page explains how to request that DM DESK delete data we hold about you. It applies both to businesses that use DM DESK directly (“Customers”) and to anyone who has messaged a Customer's business on Instagram or Messenger (“End Users”).

1. If you messaged a business through Instagram or Messenger

If a business using DM DESK answered your Instagram or Messenger message, we hold a copy of that conversation on the business's behalf. To have it deleted from our systems:

• Email dmdeskai@gmail.com with the subject “Data Deletion Request.”
• Include the Instagram or Facebook username you messaged from, and the name of the business you contacted, so we can locate the correct conversation.
• We may ask a follow-up question to confirm the request is genuinely yours before deleting anything.

We will delete the message content and any information we derived from it (such as a lead or reservation record) from DM DESK's systems within 30 days, and send a confirmation email once it's done. This deletes DM DESK's own copy of the data. It does not delete your Instagram or Facebook account, or any copy Meta itself retains, which are governed by Meta's own Privacy Policy.

2. If you are a DM DESK Customer

Business owners can request deletion of their entire DM DESK account, including all connected conversations, leads, and settings, by emailing dmdeskai@gmail.com from the email address on the account. We will confirm the request, close the account, and delete the associated data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain limited billing records for legal or tax purposes.

3. What happens after a deletion request

• We confirm receipt of your request by email, typically within a few business days.
• We verify the request is legitimate before deleting anything, to prevent someone else from deleting your data without your consent.
• Deletion is completed within 30 days, and we send a final confirmation once it's done.
• Some information may be retained briefly in backups or as required by law, and is purged on our normal backup rotation.
