AI chat that hands orders to your Toast ordering page

DM DESK works with Toast by taking the order in your Instagram DMs or website chat and handing the customer to your own Toast ordering page with the order written out. The customer adds the items and pays on your Toast ordering page, so DM DESK never puts the order into Toast and never touches the money.

This is how a chat with SF Burger Shop goes, start to finish. It is a demo business with sample details. Your own agent answers from your real prices, hours and policies.

  1. DM DESK: Hello, you're chatting with the AI assistant for SF Burger Shop. How can I help? You can also tap the mic and tell me what you'd like, I'll take your order.
  2. Customer: can I get a double cheeseburger and fries?
  3. DM DESK: Sure: 1 Double Cheeseburger and 1 Fries. That's $18.00 before tax. Anything else?
  4. Customer: add a chocolate shake
  5. DM DESK: Done: 1 Double Cheeseburger, 1 Fries and 1 Chocolate Shake. That's $24.00 before tax.
  6. Customer: ok how do I pay?
  7. DM DESK: Tap Order on Toast to open our Toast ordering page. Your list stays here while you add those items there, and you pay on Toast.

How it works with Toast.

  1. From your DM DESK dashboard, or with us on a free 30 minute setup call, you add your Toast ordering page link and your menu.
  2. A customer orders in your Instagram DMs or website chat, from your real menu and prices.
  3. The chat lists every item and the total before tax.
  4. In website chat the customer taps Order on Toast, which opens your Toast ordering page in a new tab. In a DM, the link to your Toast ordering page arrives in the message, with the order written out.
  5. The order list stays in the chat. The customer adds those items on Toast and pays there.

Questions owners ask.

Does DM DESK put the order into Toast?

No. The chat builds the order, then the customer adds those items on your Toast ordering page and pays there. DM DESK does not send orders into Toast.

Why doesn't the Toast cart fill itself?

DM DESK can't fill a Toast cart for the customer. So the chat keeps the order list on screen while the customer adds each item on Toast.

Can it read my menu from Toast?

No. DM DESK never reads Toast pages. You add your menu from your own website, a PDF or a photo of your menu, from your DM DESK dashboard or with us on a free setup call.

Who gets paid?

You do. Customers pay on your Toast ordering page. DM DESK takes no commission.

What if a customer asks about an allergy?

It says it can't make that call for an allergy and that your kitchen handles common allergens. Then it sends the question to you with the chat attached, so you can answer the customer yourself.
