How it works with Square.
- From your DM DESK dashboard, or with us on a free 30 minute setup call, you approve DM DESK on Square's own page. There are no keys to copy.
- DM DESK imports your menu from Square: items, sizes, add-ons and prices.
- A customer orders in your Instagram DMs or website chat. The chat lists every item and the total before tax.
- The chat sends a Square checkout link with the order already in it, set for pickup. In a DM the link arrives in the message. In website chat the customer taps Review order.
- The customer pays on Square's checkout page, and the money goes to your own Square account.

- Your Instagram account, your website for the DM DESK chat widget, or both.
- If you run a Square Online site, the widget on that site too, so the chat can fill the cart there.

Do I need to copy API keys from Square?
No. You approve DM DESK on Square's own page, from your DM DESK dashboard or with us on a free setup call. There's nothing to copy or paste.
Does DM DESK take a cut of my Square orders?
No. Customers pay on Square's hosted checkout and the money goes to your own Square account. DM DESK never processes card payments and takes no commission.
Where does the menu come from?
From your Square account. DM DESK imports your items, sizes, add-ons and prices, so the chat quotes your real prices.
Is the order placed when the chat ends?
No. The chat builds the order and hands over the Square checkout. The order goes through when the customer pays on Square.
I use Square Online. Does that work too?
Yes. DM DESK can import your menu from your Square Online site. When the chat runs on that same site, it fills the cart on your site, and the customer reviews and pays there.
Can I disconnect Square later?
Yes. You can disconnect Square in DM DESK, or remove DM DESK's access from your Square account, whenever you want.
